🔖 Technique Notes

Ippon Seoi Nage, or “one-arm shoulder throw,” is a specific variation of Seoi Nage in which tori threads the arm under uke’s armpit, wrapping and trapping uke’s arm tightly against the shoulder and upper arm, with control reinforced by both hands. This structural arm control fixes uke’s shoulder line, creating strong mechanical leverage and compact body alignment.
