Irimi Nage – Palm-on-Chin / Gozo Shioda Signature Variation (Gone Wrong)
⛩️ Source
The demo is an All-Japan Yoshinkan Aikido demonstration that most plausibly took place in the mid-1980s — with 1984, 1985 or 1986 being the strongest candidates — but cannot currently be unambiguously confirmed by a published Japanese source online.
🔖 Technique Notes
This video shows Gozo Shioda’s signature Irimi Nage, where he places his palm under Uke’s chin and executes a circular lift-and-drop, maintaining contact until Uke hits the ground. In this instance, Uke does not take a proper fall and lands flat on his back, the air knocked out of him.
