This excerpt is from a seminar given by Chiba Sensei at Yale University in 1992, filmed for Public Access TV.

🔖 Technique Notes

As in the classical Mae Ryō Kata Dōri Kokyū-nage, Tori places both forearms on Uke’s elbows, lifting one while lowering the other. However, instead of directly using this leverage to throw Uke as in the classical form, he drops to one knee and uses Uke’s inertia to pass under both arms, and throws him as he lowers his upper body. On the ground, Tori maintains control and transitions into an Ude Garami pin.
