Shumoku – Modern Guillaume Erard Variation

In the traditional form, Uke must be held facing upwards and be thrown in a spiraling motion, with the head directed downward and the face oriented upward throughout the movement. In this variation, Uke lies on his side across Tori's shoulders and is thrown in a vertical, wheel-like motion, instead of the traditional diagonal, nearly horizontal rotational arc.
