🔖 Technique Notes

Tori parries Uke’s Chūdan Tsuki while simultaneously delivering a strike to Uke’s face. Uke raises his other arm in defense, and Tori takes advantage of this movement to apply Ikkyō on that arm.
As he executes the Ikkyō control, Tori sweeps Uke’s outside leg hooking it from behind (still on the outside), resembling a Ko Soto Gari but applied higher, near the knee, which gives it the appearance of a Ko Soto Gake—though it remains a sweep, not a reap.
Once Uke is on the ground, Tori maintains control and finishes with a classical Ikkyō pin.
