Here, Seki Sensei demonstrates that having a range advantage allows him to deliver a thrust (tsuki) effortlessly if his opponent is not careful with the maai. He simply deflects the opponent’s blade and executes the thrust. Even if Uke successfully parries, Seki Sensei can immediately follow up with a horizontal cut.
