🔖 Technique Notes
In this sequence, Seki Sensei begins in Jōdan no Kamae to encourage Uke to attack his forward leg. When Uke targets the legs with the ōdachi, Tori changes Hanmi by drawing the front leg back, while simultaneously cutting downward with his katana to parry the incoming strike. He then turns his blade and enters forward, either cutting diagonally upward to Uke’s midsection or delivering a descending diagonal cut to the throat.
