🔖 Technique Notes
As Uke strikes Shōmen Uchi, Tori enters to the inside with a full Tenkan 180° pivot, placing one hand on the sword hilt between Uke’s hands. Then, grabbing the blade with the other hand, Tori turns Uke using a Shihō Nage-like motion (the same rotation that would be applied with a Jō). Instead of completing the pivot and finishing the Shihō Nage in the classical way, Tori enters into the space created, drops his hips as he reaches a position perpendicular to Uke’s feet, and projects Uke by rolling him over his hips.
