🔖 Technique Notes

Tori initiates contact with Gyaku Hanmi Katate Dōri. As Uke lifts Tori’s arm and pivots to execute Shihō Nage, Tori turns in the opposite direction of Uke’s rotation, canceling the set-up and its unbalancing effect, and bringing them into a side-by-side position.
From there, Tori advances, inserting his hips in front of Uke’s center while placing his free arm beneath Uke’s arm, and extends Uke’s arm backward along the shoulder line, completing the Ude Kime Nage.
