🔖 Technique Notes
Uke attempts to seize Tori’s chest lapel (Muna Dōri). Before the grab is fully established, Tori—holding his Tessen in a reverse grip—makes contact with Uke’s hand in an Ai Hanmi position (similar to Ai Hanmi Katate Dōri if the wrist had been grabbed), placing the Tessen across Uke’s wrist. Tori then takes the end of the Tessen with his other hand from underneath and steps back while curling his fingers, applying a Nikyō lock that brings Uke down to the ground.
This technique can also be applied after Uke has already secured the Muna Dōri grip, as intercepting the hand before the grab is established is a more advanced and difficult variation.
