Ikkyō Nage Omote – Morihei Ueshiba Sen Sen no Sen Variation
⛩️ Source
This excerpt comes from a 1935 demonstration by Morihei Ueshiba Sensei at the Osaka Asahi Journal, directed by Hisa Takuma.
🔖 Technique Notes
Uke and Tori face each other. Tori delivers an atemi to Uke’s face. As Uke raises his arm to defend, Tori seizes it—one hand at the elbow and the other at the wrist. He then enters by jumping to the inside and, as he lands, cuts forward with Uke’s arm in a motion similar to Ikkyō Omote. However, instead of cutting straight down to keep Uke close for a pin, he directs the cut more forward, projecting Uke ahead of him.
