Tachi Dōri – Irimi Nage – Morihei Ueshiba Sen Sen no Sen Direct Variation

As Uke begins to raise his Bokutō for a Shōmen Uchi, Tori enters to the outside and delivers an atemi to Uke’s midsection with his lead hand, preempting the strike. Uke’s Shōmen Uchi still follows through, but Tori is already off the line. Tori then raises his other arm toward Uke’s face and cuts down in the classical head-wrapping Irimi Nage. Uke then drops into a fall to avoid the incoming strike.
