⛩️ Source
This excerpt comes from a news segment broadcast by Hokkaido Television Broadcasting (HTB) in Japan, likely as part of a regional news program in Hokkaido, featuring Alain Floquet visiting the Daitōkan and training in Daitō-ryū Aiki-jūjutsu under Tokimune Takeda at the Kitakawachi Dojo. The broadcast is estimated to date from the early 1990s (approximately 1990–1992). The footage was reportedly provided by Eiichi Kawazoe, who was an uchideshi (live-in disciple) of Tokimune from 1982 to 1986.
🔖 Technique Notes
Tori performs the classical head-wrapping Irimi Nage, throwing Uke onto his back. As Uke lands, Tori controls the nearest arm by trapping it between his knees and securing it under his armpit, beneath the arm that executed the Irimi Nage. From this position, he delivers two simultaneous atemi—one to Uke’s face and the other to the groin.
Tori then seizes Uke’s wrist and locks the elbow against his knee. Maintaining this control, he repositions Uke onto his stomach using the arm as a lever—controlling the wrist and shoulder while using his knee as the pivot point at the elbow. This resembles an Ikkyō-style control, but with the grip closer to the shoulder and the knee replacing the hand at the elbow.
With Uke face down, Tori maintains control of the arm, places a knee on Uke’s back, and delivers a final atemi to the head with the hand holding the wrist.
