Irimi Nage Tai Atari Variation

In Aikidō, Tai Atari (“body strike” or “body collision”) refers to entering directly into Uke’s space with the body to disrupt their balance. In this specific Irimi Nage variation, Tori enters at an angle, placing his humerus against Uke’s humerus slightly lower than Uke’s. It is still considered an Irimi Nage because Tori enters directly into Uke’s space disrupting his balance backward.
