🔖 Technique Notes

Uke ties up behind Tori’s neck, establishing a collar tie. Tori raises the hand on the side of Uke’s collar tie, keeping his elbow low, and places his forearm against Uke’s elbow. He rolls his shoulder while executing an Enka pivot, allowing his hand to slip into position on Uke’s hand for Kote Gaeshi. He performs another Enka pivot to execute the Kote Gaeshi turn, throwing Uke to the ground. Once Uke lands, Tori places his shin against Uke’s side near the armpit, sinking his weight to secure control. From there, he steps around Uke’s head with his other leg in a circular motion, pinches his knees together around Uke’s arm, and rotates 90° away from Uke toward his back, extending the elbow to finish the standing Jūji Gatame armbar.
