Irimi Nage – Contra-Hip Cut Variation with Shin-to-Arm Pin

🔖 Technique Notes
As Uke moves to grab Tori’s wrist in Gyaku Hanmi Katate Dōri, Tori parries the attempted grab with his other hand, controlling and extending Uke’s grabbing arm as he steps to the outside. Simultaneously, he seizes Uke’s collar with his lead arm (the one that was about to be grabbed).
Tori then performs a head-wrapping Irimi Nage, taking Uke to the ground without stepping the rear leg in coordination with the advancing arm.
He only advances the rear leg after Uke is on the ground, using it to control Uke by placing his shin alongside Uke’s humerus. Tori then sinks his full body weight onto this shin-to-arm and side contact as he exhales, securing the pin and maintaining control.
