The content of this video comes from the leading figures of the Yoseikan Aikidō school of Minoru Mochizuki Sensei. This instruction is still given by one of their assistants, Terumi Washizu Sensei, founder of Gyukushin Ryū Aikidō in Shizuoka, Japan, who taught at the former Yoseikan Hombu dojo in Shizuoka.

🔖 Technique Notes

Uke strikes with a Jōdan Nukite. Tori evades to the inside, contacting Uke’s elbow with his lead hand and performing a Tenkan pivot in front of Uke, sliding from elbow to wrist to secure it, then continuing with an Enka to strike Uke’s midsection with an elbow. He steps back with his rear leg, executes another Tenkan to face Uke, seizes the hand with both hands, and applies a gooseneck-like wristlock with Uke’s elbow facing upward. Finally, Tori enters behind Uke with a jump, grabbing Uke’s rear leg with his lead hand and his collar (Eri Dōri) with the other, dropping in a sacrifice throw perpendicular to Uke’s feet, and maintains control by transitioning into a Jūji Jime–type choke (thumbs oriented one up, one down, effectively a Kata Jūji Jime).
