🔖 Technique Notes
Uke thrusts with a Jūken (bayonet). Tori enters to the outside and seizes the weapon with both hands—the rear hand at the tip and the lead hand from underneath, palm facing up, between Uke’s hands. Using the jūken as a lever, he lowers the rear hand while raising the lead hand, pivoting to face the same direction as Uke. In this motion, the lead arm under Uke’s arm locks his elbow, unbalancing Uke upward onto his toes. As the weapon’s rotation completes and the handle comes in front, Tori thrusts forward and downward while stepping backward, extending and unbalancing Uke, causing him to fall.
