🔖 Technique Notes
Uke is on his back, and Tori is beside him attempting to establish a side control. As Uke frames to defend, Tori takes control of the wrist of the arm across Uke’s body and moves it down toward Uke’s hip, passing it across his own head from the cheek closer to Uke to the farther cheek. As he does so, Tori places the back of Uke’s hand against his outside cheek. As he then brings Uke’s arm back toward his centerline, positioning the elbow close to the ground with the forearm vertical, Tori turns his head toward Uke, applying pressure with his cheek onto the back of Uke’s hand and folding the wrist into a Kamakubi (gooseneck wristlock), while his other hand controls Uke’s elbow. The combined control immobilizes the arm and secures the wristlock submission.
