Kata Dōri Men Uchi – Kokyū Nage – Forward Overextension Variation
⛩️ Source
This excerpt comes from a 1935 demonstration by Morihei Ueshiba Sensei at the Osaka Asahi Journal, directed by Hisa Takuma.
🔖 Technique Notes
Tori and Uke face each other. Uke runs toward Tori, seizing his shoulder and initiating a Men Uchi contact (Kata Dōri Men Uchi). Before the contact is fully established, Tori pivots to face the same direction Uke is moving, extending his arm away from the initial point of contact. This overextends and unbalances Uke. In the same motion, Tori lowers his arm, bringing Uke down.
