Kata Dōri Men Uchi – Koshi Nage from Ude Kime Nage
⛩️ Source
This excerpt comes from “Apprendez l’Aikido” (on-screen spelling; likely intended as “Apprenez l’Aïkido”), a 1985 instructional seminar video featuring Christian Tissier (then aged 34), produced and presented by the Italian imprint Aikido e Dintorni, whose banner (www.aikidoedintorni.com) appears repeatedly throughout the footage.
It was most likely filmed during a seminar in Italy and distributed as a small-run VHS production, but the exact filming location, organizing dojo, and original distribution details remain unverified.
🔖 Technique Notes
Uke grabs Tori’s shoulder in Kata Dōri and strikes Shōmen Uchi. As Tori makes contact with the strike using the held arm, he enters to the inside and pivots, seizing Uke’s arm with both hands. He lowers the arm and then raises it again in the manner of an Ude Kime Nage entry. When Uke’s hand reaches the level of Tori’s head and they are aligned side-by-side, Tori threads his free arm beneath Uke’s arm, positioning Uke’s triceps across his shoulder. Simultaneously, Tori lowers his center and tilts his body to one side while looking toward the side of the raised hand, angling his torso opposite to the direction of his gaze. He then lowers the controlled arm while retreating his hips across Uke’s body, making Uke roll over his hip.
