This video is part of the Kodokan × IJF Academy “100 Techniques” series, a joint educational project presenting a standardized, officially endorsed technical curriculum that unites classical Kodokan Jūdō with modern international practice.
🔖 Technique Notes
Ko Uchi Gari, or "small inner reap," is a Jūdō throw where Tori off-balances Uke forward or slightly sideways and reaps the inside of Uke’s near leg at the ankle or lower calf using the heel or sole of the foot, pulling it backward or diagonally while simultaneously controlling Uke’s upper body with the hands to complete the throw. The key is to target the weight-bearing leg from the inside, using a short, precise hooking motion rather than a broad sweeping action.
