One-Hand Mercy Grip (Fingers Interlocked) – Nikyō Ura – Under-the-Arm Variation

Uke and Tori join one hand together in a one-hand mercy grip, interlocking their fingers. Uke then pushes forward, forcing Tori’s wrist into a backward fold. Using this pressure, Tori turns his hand inward and places his free hand on Uke’s wrist, passing his arm under his own arm to place the hand over Uke’s wrist. He then drives the control downward and toward his center. This movement locks Uke’s wrist into a Nikyō wristlock, compressing and rotating the joint.
