⛩️ Source

This excerpt comes from “Apprendez l’Aikido” (on-screen spelling; likely intended as “Apprenez l’Aïkido”), a 1985 instructional seminar video featuring Christian Tissier (then aged 34), produced and presented by the Italian imprint Aikido e Dintorni, whose banner (www.aikidoedintorni.com) appears repeatedly throughout the footage.

It was most likely filmed during a seminar in Italy and distributed as a small-run VHS production, but the exact filming location, organizing dojo, and original distribution details remain unverified.

🔖 Technique Notes

Uke strikes Shōmen Uchi. Tori parries while stepping to the outside and seizes Uke’s nearest lapel with his free hand, thumb positioned outside and pointing downward. He then executes a Tenkan pivot. As Uke turns to face him, Tori steps in and simultaneously raises Uke’s arm and the lapel grip while lowering his center, positioning his hips perpendicular to Uke’s feet in a T-shape. He then lowers both arms—the one controlling Uke’s hand and the one gripping the lapel—while retreating his hip, making Uke roll over it.
The footwork used in this sequence is the same as the Uchi Kaiten entry classic variation.
