🔖 Technique Notes
Uke grips Tori’s sleeve (Sode Dōri). Tori steps to the outside while raising the grabbed arm in a circular motion outward and upward toward Uke, ending forearm to forearm with his palm positioned at Uke’s elbow and Uke’s elbow pointing upward, thereby unbalancing Uke and controlling his shoulder through the elbow. Tori then executes a Tenkan pivot while lowering his arm, maintaining control of Uke’s shoulder via the elbow. Once Uke is on the ground, Tori secures the position by sinking his body weight onto Uke’s shoulder with his knee.
