🔖 Technique Notes
Ude Hishigi Juji Gatame, or "cross armlock," is a Jūdō joint-lock technique in which Tori controls Uke’s arm, isolates it, and extends it against the elbow joint to force a submission. Tori positions the hips close to Uke’s shoulder, secures Uke’s arm between the thighs with the thumb pointing upward, and aligns the fulcrum of the hips beneath Uke’s elbow. By controlling the wrist and drawing the arm tight while raising the hips, Tori applies hyperextension pressure to the elbow joint. Proper control of Uke’s posture, tight leg positioning, and precise hip lift are essential, as the submission relies on leverage and alignment
