🔖 Technique Notes

Uke grabs both of Tori’s wrists from behind (Ushiro Ryōte Dōri). Tori raises both arms and pivots with an Enka movement, passing under one of Uke’s arms and freeing that side from the grip. He continues the rotation, lifting Uke’s other arm as in a Shihō Nage or Ude Kime Nage entry, unbalancing Uke forward.
As Uke’s arm is raised high enough, Tori brings it onto his shoulder, locking the elbow against it. He then places his hips across Uke’s body and leans slightly forward while lowering Uke’s wrist, fully extending the arm and securing the elbow lock. By positioning his hips across Uke, Tori prevents him from stepping forward to relieve the pressure.
