🔖 Technique Notes
Uke grabs Tori’s wrist in Gyaku Hanmi Katate Dōri. Tori rotates the seized hand inward, creating space and weakening Uke’s grip. He then captures Uke’s thumb (Yubi Dōri) and overextends it, forcing Uke to release the wrist while simultaneously driving Uke straight downward under the pressure of the thumb control.
