🔖 Technique Notes
As Uke throws a Mae Geri, Tori makes a slight retreat by stepping back with the rear leg, then brings the lead leg back to the same line to create distance. At the same time, he redirects the kicking leg inward with a low, Gedan-barai–style parry. Then, just as Uke is about to set the foot down, Tori sweeps the ankle from behind with his rear leg, in a motion similar to Judō's Ko Soto Gari.
Even if the sweeping motion is not precise, this movement can also be used as a low kick.
