Seoi Nage Counter with Groin Contact

Uke takes hold of Tori in a Jūdō kumikata grip (Sode–Eri Dōri). From the outset, Tori’s free hand remains naturally hanging at his side. As Uke begins to turn and lift the gripped arm to position himself for a Seoi Nage, Tori reaches from behind with that free hand to target Uke’s groin. Whether or not the groin is firmly seized is secondary—the mere contact is enough to disrupt Uke’s intent and deter the throw.
