🔖 Technique Notes

Uke grabs Tori’s sleeve (Sode Dōri). Using the grabbed arm, Tori seizes Uke’s other hand and pulls it, prompting Uke to step with his back leg and creating an opening for Tori to enter behind Uke on that side. As he enters, Tori releases Uke’s hand and wraps his arm around Uke’s neck, initiating an Irimi Nage–style entry that transitions into a Kubishime, securing the choke further by grabbing his own arm with his free hand and finishing more precisely in an Arm-In Rear Naked Choke (Hadaka Jime, with Uke’s arm trapped inside the choke). With Uke already unbalanced backward, Tori can easily bring him to the ground and hook one of Uke’s legs with his own to prevent movement while maintaining the choke.
