Suwari Waza – Kote Gaeshi – Morihei Ueshiba Sen Sen no Sen Variation
⛩️ Source
This excerpt comes from a 1935 demonstration by Morihei Ueshiba Sensei at the Osaka Asahi Journal, directed by Hisa Takuma.
🔖 Technique Notes
Uke and Tori face each other, seated in seiza. Tori delivers an atemi to Uke’s face, and Uke raises his arm to protect himself, resulting in Men Uchi contact. Tori raises his free arm to make contact from the outside of Uke’s raised arm, retreats his inside knee to open his hip while pulling Uke’s arm, and slides his outside hand down to seize Uke’s wrist. He then retreats the other knee as he twists Uke’s wrist to the outside—following the same direction as the knee movement—to complete the Kote Gaeshi.
