🔖 Technique Notes

Uke and Tori face each other, seated in seiza. Tori delivers an atemi to Uke’s face, and as Uke raises his arm to defend, Tori makes contact with it—one hand at the elbow and the other at the wrist. He slightly lowers Uke’s arm to allow the Men Uchi contact hand to seize Uke’s hand, placing his thumb over Uke’s thumb, while the other hand slides down from the elbow to secure the wrist. Tori then applies Nikajō Kote Zume (Nikyō), compressing and rotating the wrist forward. Maintaining this control, he pivots to the outside in a full 180° rotation, extending Uke’s arm and raising his now-lead knee to position Uke’s forearm across it, pressing down on the elbow to lock it, pinning Uke.
