This excerpt comes from a 1935 demonstration by Morihei Ueshiba Sensei at the Osaka Asahi Journal, directed by Hisa Takuma.
🔖 Technique Notes
Uke and Tori face each other, seated in seiza. Tori delivers an atemi to Uke’s face, and as Uke raises his arm to defend, Tori makes contact at the wrist level with both hands. He then retreats his inside knee outward, settling at a 45° angle relative to Uke, and in the same motion secures Uke’s wrist with both hands in a Yonkyō grip. Tori lifts Uke’s elbow to unbalance him upward and forward; as Uke begins to rise due to the elbow being driven upward, Tori cuts down with the arm, directing Uke into a forward roll.
