Hanmi Handachi Waza Ushiro Ryō Kata Dōri – Leg Scissors Head Throw

Tori is seated in seiza while Uke stands. Uke approaches from behind and seizes both of Tori’s shoulders (Ushiro Ryō Kata Dōri). Tori rolls backward onto his back, as in Ushiro Ukemi, bringing his legs up to scissor Uke’s head between his feet. Using the momentum of the roll, he then swings forward again—legs leading with Uke’s head still trapped between them—throwing Uke forward in front of him.
