🔖 Technique Notes

Uke grips Tori’s wrist in Ai Hanmi Katate Dōri. Tori enters to the inside, seizes Uke’s elbow with his free hand, and cuts forward, taking control of Uke’s wrist with the hand that was previously grabbed to apply Ikkyō Omote.
Tori then releases the elbow. As Uke begins to rise, Tori steps forward to position himself in front of Uke. He then performs an Enka pivot and falls backward, using his bodyweight to execute the throw in a sutemi (sacrifice) mechanic, launching Uke in the same direction as the Ikkyō cut.
Control is maintained on the ground, where Uke is pinned in Ude Garami in the same Americana configuration.
