🔖 Technique Notes
Both opponents are seated (Suwari Waza). As Uke begins to draw his Kodachi, Tori lunges forward with his full body weight—almost falling onto Uke—leaning onto the wrist and the elbow while grabbing the wrist in Ai Hanmi Katate Dōri, exerting pressure to control the arm and prevent the draw. From this position, Tori rotates Uke’s arm outward, pinning him belly down to complete Ikkyō Ura. To reinforce control, Tori folds the arm behind Uke’s back into an Ude Garami (Kimura) position, steps over Uke with his lead leg to sit on the lower back/hips, and seizes the Saya (scabbard), tilting it forward to make drawing the Kodachi physically impossible.
