🔖 Technique Notes

Uke and Tori face each other, seated in seiza. Tori first presents his arms toward Uke, prompting him to grab both wrists (Ryōte Dōri). Before Uke can pin Tori’s hands down, Tori raises his hands upward and toward himself while opening his hip and retreating one knee. This upward and backward movement unbalances Uke forward, and Tori then redirects his hands downward to his rear side, causing Uke to fall into a forward roll.
