🔖 Technique Notes
Uke and Tori face each other, seated in seiza. Uke strikes Yokomen Uchi. Tori raises his outside hand to parry the attack on the inside line, then crosses his other hand over it to establish contact on the outside of Uke’s attacking wrist.
Maintaining this connection, Tori cuts downward while retreating his open knee to the outside, settling at a 90° angle relative to Uke. In the same motion, he secures Uke’s wrist with both hands in a Yonkyō grip. He then lifts Uke’s elbow to unbalance him upward and forward, and follows with a downward cut that projects Uke forward, sending him flying into a forward fall.
