Irimi Nage – Knee-drop Variation
⛩️ Source
This excerpt is from the 32nd All-Japan Yoshinkan Aikido Grand Demonstration in 1987, featuring Tsutomu Chida, a senior uchideshi of Gozo Shioda Sensei.
🔖 Technique Notes
As Tori executes the classical Irimi Nage with the characteristic ‘head-wrapping’ arm motion, the advancing leg drops to one knee, allowing Tori to follow Uke to the ground and finish the technique with a much more vertical cut.
