⛩️ Source
This excerpt comes from a news segment broadcast by Hokkaido Television Broadcasting (HTB) in Japan, likely as part of a regional news program in Hokkaido, featuring Alain Floquet visiting the Daitōkan and training in Daitō-ryū Aiki-jūjutsu under Tokimune Takeda at the Kitakawachi Dojo. The broadcast is estimated to date from the early 1990s (approximately 1990–1992). The footage was reportedly provided by Eiichi Kawazoe, who was an uchideshi (live-in disciple) of Tokimune from 1982 to 1986.
🔖 Technique Notes
Uke attacks with a Jōdan Tsuki. Tori makes contact with the lead hand, slightly deflecting the strike upward, then enters on the outside and executes a Tenkan pivot. As he turns, Tori positions his shoulder under Uke’s armpit and seizes the attacking wrist. He projects his shoulder forward and downward while stepping back, locking Uke’s elbow and unbalancing him forward in an Ude Kime Nage variation (“elbow-on-shoulder lock” variation).
As Uke rises to regain balance and turns to face Tori again, Tori uses this motion to grab Uke’s hand with his free hand and, because his shoulder remains pressed under Uke’s armpit, passes under Uke’s arm. He performs a Tenkan pivot to complete the Uchi Kaiten entry, locking Uke’s wrist and unbalancing him upward onto his toes in Uchi Kaiten Sankyō.
Tori then transitions into an Ude Garami (Kimura) control, breaking Uke’s posture forward and downward, and performs an Enka pivot to release and throw him, completing the Ude Garami Nage.
