Ude Garami (Americana) Ground Finish from Shihō Nage – Shihō Nage-Like Arm Position Variation

🔖 Technique Notes
Tori is kneeling beside Uke, who is on his back, controlling the hand with both hands while Uke’s arm is folded in the Shihō Nage position—essentially the same as at the end of a Shihō Nage. From this position, Tori pulls Uke’s wrist outward along a line perpendicular to the arm, or slightly backward, while controlling or driving the elbow forward. This creates a shoulder lock with torque similar to an Ude Garami (Americana). Tori can reinforce the control by placing his rear knee on Uke’s armpit.
